Lingyang Build or Pass?

Lingyang is an A Tier Main-DPS Character that has a special mechanic which allows him to fight both Ground and Aerial (after using Ultimate). One thing worth to mention is that his Aerial attacks requires higher skill cap to lear and can create difficulties whilst fighting multiple enemies.

Recommended Endgame Stats for Lingyang

*Important — CRIT DMG shows 150% and Energy Regen shows 100% when you check in-game. The recommended stats below show how much on top of it you need to get.

  • ATK: 2000 or more

  • HP: 15000 or more

  • DEF: 1100 or more

  • GLACIO DMG%: 60% or more

  • CRIT RATE%: 70%+ or a 1/2 ratio with C.DMG

  • CRIT DMG% 110% or more

  • Energy Regeneration (Minimum): 10-25%

    • Lingyang only has one mode of play and that is going all in on his ultimate burst window with little to no warm-up needed. To make this work, getting the appropriate amount of Energy Regen is essential. How much you'll need will vary from team to team and depending on which main Echo you opt to use, but we recommend 10-25% just to be safe,

    • If you find your Lingyang missing out on your ultimate, you may need a bit more - or to reassess your team comp, echo choice, or rotations.

Main DPS Sub-DPS Support
Wuthering Waves - Lingyang Lingyang Wuthering Waves - Sanhua Sanhua Healer

Since Lingyang will be consistently using his basic attacks, both in and out of his Striding Lion stance, you'll want to pair him with Sanhua to maximize his damage output. Also, you'll want either Baizhi or Verina as your support since there is no character right now who boosts Glacio DMG with their Outro Skill.

Ideally, you'd want Verina if possible, otherwise, this team comp will have difficulty dealing with Glacio-resistant enemies.

Alternatively, you could also use Yangyang as a support to group up enemies for mobbing, but you'll be reliant on items for healing.

Gameplay

  1. Start with Sanhua until she's built up enough Concerto Energy to activate her Outro Skill.

  2. Once Sanhua's built up enough Concerto Energy and the other party members' icons are glowing, swap out to Lingyang to boost his Basic Attacks.

  3. Activate Striding Lion as soon as possible to buff his Basic Attacks and maximize his damage output.

  4. Swap out to your support whenever you need to heal. If you don't need to heal, swap back to Sanhua and start building up Concerto Energy again.

  5. Repeat the steps until the enemy is felled.

How to Play Lingyang

Build Up His Forte Circuit Meter

Lingyang maximizes his damage output when he's in the Striding Lion state, so you'll want to prioritize building up his Forte Circuit by using his Intro Skill, Enhanced Resonance Skill, and Resonance Libeartion.

List of Attacks that Fill the Forte Circuit

Attack — Amount:

  • Enhanced Resonance Skill — (Enhances After BA3) 20%

  • Intro Skill — 40%

  • Resonance Liberation — 60%

Combo with Enhanced Resonance Skill

Whenever you're using a Basic Attack combo, you'll want to weave in Enhanced Resonance Skills when possible to quickly build up Lingyang's Forte Circuit. You can tell when the ability's enhanced once it glows blue.

Enter Striding Lion When Bar's Full

Once Lingyang's Forte Circuit bar is full, you can enter the Striding Lion state by using a Heavy Attack. Once he's in this state, his attacks will be upgraded to do significantly more damage.

Activate Ult When Bar's 40% Full

Another way to enter the Striding Lion state is to use Lingyang's Ultimate. This will happen as long as you have 40% of your Forte Circuit filled up since using his Ult will give you the extra 60% needed.

If you use his Ult to enter the Striding Lion state, it will last longer thanks to the 50% reduced meter consumption speed. Make sure to use his Ult whenever you can instead of entering Striding Lion via a Heavy Attack.

Use Other Character’s Outro Skills

Lingyang's Best Teammates:

Before swapping to Lingyang, you'll want to use an Outro Skill that buffs his damage output. Sanhua will buff his Basic Attack's damage while Verina and Baizhi will boost his elemental damage.

As a note, Verina's Outro Skill applies to the whole team instead of just the next character, so you can do a full character rotation of Verina → Sanhua → Lingyang.

Lingyang Combos

100% Forte Circuit Combo

General Combo: BA 1-3 → Res. Skill → BA 4 → Res. Skill → BA 5 → Res. Skill → BA 3 → Res. Skill → BA 4 → Res. Skill → Basic Striding Lion Combo

Intro Skill Combo: Intro Skill → BA 1-3 → Res. Skill → BA 4 → Res. Skill → BA 5 → Res. Skill → Basic Striding Lion Combo

This will be the generic combo if you need to fill up Lingyang's Forte Circuit meter. To make it easier, you can spam Resonance Skill after Basic Attack 3-5 so that the game automatically buffers the input.

40% Forte Circuit Combo

General Combo: BA 1-3 → Res. Skill → BA 4 → Res. Skill → Resonance Liberation Combo

Intro Skill Combo: Intro Skill → Resonance Liberation Combo

If Lingyang's Resonance Libeartion is ready, you'll only need to perform 2 Resonance Skills, or 1 Intro Skill, before transitioning into the Resonance Liberation Combo.

Basic Striding Lion Combo

Combo: 100% Forte Circuit → Lampylumen Myriad → HA → Res. Skill → BA1 → BA 2 → Repeat From Res. Skill → Stormy Kicks

If Lingyang doesn't have his Ult ready, you'll want to use this combo until it's active and ready to be used. Make sure that all 3 Lampylumen Myriad attacks hit to get the full Glacio DMG Boost.

Resonance Liberation Combo

Combo: 40% Forte Circuit → Lampylumen Myriad → Res. Liberation → HA / BA1 → Res. Skill → BA1 → BA 2 → Repeat From Res. Skill → Stormy Kicks

This combo can still be used if Forte Circuit > 40%.

Whenever Lingyang has his Resonance Liberation ready, you'll want to perform this combo since it has a higher damage output and Striding Lion will last longer. Again, just make sure all 3 Lampylumen Myriad attacks hit to get the full Glacio DMG Boost.
