- Yinlin's Ultimate is a major part of her damage and an incredibly helpful tool for quickly applying her Sinner's Mark to multiple enemies at once after a quick swap.
- This makes her Forte Chameleon Cipher which aims to convert Sinner's Marks to Punishment Mark much easier to use - with a higher chance to apply the Punishment Mark to many more enemies at once. Without combining these two you'll have to rely on Yinlin's basics and skills to mark enemies before using her Forte.
- Due to these interactions getting enough Energy Regeneration is important. We recommend 20-30% to comfortably have your ultimate available in a timely manner for damage and applying Sinner's Mark in cases you need them.

Best F2P (free-to-play) and other team comps for Yinlin in Wuthering Waves

Calcharo	Yinlin	Verina

Calcharo is by far the best Main DPS for Yinlin since he makes great use of the Electro DMG and Resonance Liberation Boosts from her Outro Skill. Yinlin also helps make up for Calcharo's lack of consistent AoE with her Judgement Bolts.

Besides that, Verina is used as the standard premier healer that can also provide an extra All-Type DMG Deepen on top of Yinlin's Electro DMG boost.

Gameplay

Open with Verina and use her until she has enough Concerto Energy to use her Outro Skill.
Swap to Yinlin and start building up her Concerto Energy and Forte Circuit bars.
Once you can use her Outro Skill and Forte Circuit, do her full damage combo and swap out to Calcharo.
Use Calcharo's Ultimate as soon as you can and start beating down on the enemies.
Once his Ult ends, swap back to Verina and repeat the steps until all enemies are felled.

If you don't have Calcharo, or your other Main DPS characters are used on other teams, you can run a F2P team with Rover (Havoc) as your Main DPS and Baizhi as your support. This will be a more Basic Attack oriented team that makes use of Rover's powerful Dark Surge state.

Alternatively, you could use other strong Single-Target DPS characters, like Chixia or Lingyang, instead of Rover, as well as grouping supports like Yangyang or Jianxin if both healing supports are used on other teams.

Gameplay

Use Yinlin until she can activate all of her abilities and perform her full combo.
Perform Yinlin's full damage combo and swap to Rover.
Activate Rover's Dark Surge state and go to town on the enemies.
Once Yinlin's abilities are off cooldown, swap back to her and repeat until all enemies are defeated.
Low HP Swap to Baizhi and use all of her healing abilities until you're comfortable swapping back to your DPS characters.

How to Play Yinlin

Apply Sinner's Marks on Enemies

Attacks That Apply Sinner's Marks:

Normal Attack

Yinlin's kit heavily revolves around her Sinner's Mark mechanic, so you want to make sure that enemies are always marked before you start dealing damage and performing Yinlin's combos.

Convert Sinner's Marks to Punishment Marks

To convert Sinner's Marks into Punishment Marks, you'll need to use her Forte Circuit. Fill up her Forte Gauge with her Basic Attacks and Resonance Skill before holding Heavy Attack to turn the Sinner's Marks into Punishment Marks.

Just remember to apply Sinner's Marks first before using her Forte Circuit since you won't get Punishment Marks otherwise.

Swap Out After Using Her Forte Circuit

As a Sub-DPS, you'll want to make sure you swap Yinlin out once her Punishment Marks are active. She doesn't need to be the active character for the Judgement Strike procs to go off, meaning you can use your Main DPS instead.

This is especially true if she has a Stringmaster equipped since it will further boost her ATK stat once she's off the field.

Use Her Resonance Skill After Applying Sinner's Marks

The second activation of Yinlin's Resonance Skill will hit all targets with a Sinner's Mark applied. Make sure to always use her Resonance Skill after applying a Sinner's Mark on the enemy so that you can maximize its damage output.

Use Basic Attacks if You Don't Have Ult

In case Yinlin doesn't have her Ultimate ready, you'll want to focus on using Basic Attacks against every single enemy to apply Sinner's Marks on them. This way you can still turn them into Punishments Marks with her Forte Circuit, even if you didn't use her Ult first.

Sinner's Marks are Semi-Permanent

Her Sinner's Marks have infinite duration, meaning you can exploit effects that require a Sinner's Marks without having to worry about it disappearing. The only time that the Sinner's Marks will disappear is when Yinlin switches off the field or when she uses her Forte Circuit to turn them into Punishment Marks.

Yinlin Combos

Basic Forte Circuit Generation Combo

Combo: BA (All Enemies) → Res. Skill (if Available) → BA1 → BA2 → BA3 → BA4 → Res. Skill → Repeat

Whenever you're waiting for Yinlin's abilities to come off cooldown, or if you need to generate energy for her Resonance Liberation and Forte Circuit, you'll want to perform this combo as much as possible.

Full Damage Rotation Combo

Thundering / Tempest Mephis Combo: Intro Skill → Echo Skill → Res. Liberation → Res. Skill → BA1 → BA2 → BA3 → BA4 → Res. Skill → HA (Forte Circuit) → Outro Skill

Impermanence Heron Combo: Intro Skill → Res. Liberation → Res. Skill → BA1 → BA2 → BA3 → BA4 → Res. Skill → Echo Skill → HA (Forte Circuit) → Outro Skill

If all enemies die before using your Forte Circuit, reapply Sinner's Marks first since you won't transform anything into Punishment Marks otherwise.

This will be Yinlin's standard full damage combo that's used whenever all of her abilities are available to use. The combo aims to maximize her damage output, as well as her Forte Circuit and Outro Skill timers once she swaps out to the Main DPS of your team.
