Best Sonata Effects for Danjin

Recommended Sonata Set for Danjin: Sun-sinking Eclipse (5-pc)

  • 2 set: Havoc DMG +10%.

  • 5 set: Havoc DMG +7.5% after releasing Basic Attack or Heavy Attack. This effect stacks up to 4 times, each stack lasts 15s.

Recommended Main Echo for Danjin: Crownless

  • One of the strongest burst damage Echoes in the game that also generates a sizeable chunk of Resonance Energy. What makes this Echo strong is that its damage is delivered in a massive 360 degree area around the target it fixates on and is immediately swap cancellable the second it's used with 0 downsides. When using this Echo, always use it and immediately switch out so it deals it's damage and finishes its animation while the caster of the Echo is off the field. Due to this fact this Echo is normally used outside of characters burst windows.

Recommended Endgame Stats for Danjin

*Important CRIT DMG shows 150% and Energy Regen shows 100% when you check in-game. The recommended stats below show how much on top of it you need to get.

  • ATK: 1800 or more

  • HP: 14000 or more

  • DEF: 1100 or more

  • HAVOC DMG%: 60% or more

  • CRIT RATE%: 70%+ or a 1/2 ratio with C.DMG

  • CRIT DMG% 120% or more

  • Energy Regen: 0%

    • Danjin does not require any Energy Regen in order to function and it's not specifically recommended for her build, but if you can gain some without it costing you, having more frequent Ultimates will lead to more total damage in fights

Danjin Team
Main DPS Sub-DPS Support
Wuthering Waves - Danjin Danjin Wuthering Waves - Mortefi Mortefi Healer/Support

Danjin relies on her Heavy Attack as her primary source of damage and healing, so she'll want Mortefi as one of her teammates to increase its damage. Also, she appreciates having Verina on her team for any emergency heals and for a generically great damage buff.

Alternatively, you could use Baizhi or Jianxin instead of Verina if you don't have her.

Gameplay

  1. Use Danjin until she gets low on health and she doesn't have any Ruby Blossom stacks for her self-healing.

  2. Swap out to Verina and use her ultimate when it's available to heal up Danjin.

  3. Once Verina's built up enough Concerto Energy and the other party members' icons are glowing, swap to Mortefi and build up his Resonance Liberation and Concerto Energy charges.

  4. Once both his Resonance Liberation and Concero Energy charges are maxed out, use his Ultimate and swap back to Danjin to maximize her damage output and healing from Heavy Attack: Chaoscleave.

  5. Repeat the steps until the enemy is felled.

How to Play Danjin

High-Risk, High-Reward Playstyle

Danjin can be a strong and effective DPS only if you can dodge and parry any enemy's attacks. Danjin's Resonance Skill has a zero seconds cooldown, but, it consumes her HP.

Since you will be using Danjin's Resonance Skill multiple times, expect her health bar to always be below 50% of her Max HP!

Dodge and Parry Enemy Attacks

Danjin will easily get downed by enemies if you cannot dodge or parry. By dodging successfully, you can further maximize her damage on-field since you can instantly use Resonance Skill: Crimson Erosion after a Dodge Counter.

Normally, Resonance Skill: Crimson Erosion can only be activated when you hit your 2nd Basic Attack or use Danjin's Intro Skill.

Using Resonance Skill: Crimson Erosion is basically an ability that allows you to smoothly cast her Resonance Skill twice.

Inflict Incinerating Will Right Away

After triggering her Intro Skill, follow it up with Resonance Skill: Crimson Erosion. Doing this inflicts Incinerating Will to enemies hit, allowing Danjin to deal more damage!

Stack Forte Using Her Skill

Danjin's time on-field revolves around her stacking Ruby Blossom so she can fully charge her Forte Circuit gauge and then use her charged Heavy Attack.

Note that the only Resonance Skill variation that can inflict Incinerating Will, the DMG amplification debuff, is Crimson Erosion!

Execute Resonance Skill Combos

The best way to stack Ruby Blossom is to do the combos needed to activate the Resonance Skills: Crimson Erosion and Sanguine Pulse. As shown in the video above, her combos can be string together to gain more stacks!

Use Heavy Attack When Forte is Full

Danjin's charged Heavy Attacks: Chaoscleave and Scatterbloom deal a lot of damage when Danjin's Forte Circuit gauge is full.

To activate the ability, long press Danjin's Basic Attack and then follow it up with another one when a white circle on Danjin appears!

Use When Danjin Needs Healing

During an emergency situation where you need to immediately heal Danjin, consider using her charged Heavy Attack when her Forte Circuit is half full. While doing this deals less damage, it will proc the healing mechanic!

Cast Danjin’s Ultimate to Deal a Lot of Damage

Danjin's Ultimate has a low Resonance Energy Cost compared to most other DPS Characters. The best time to use Danjin's Ultimate is when an enemy has the Incinerating Will debuff.

Bring a Healer With Danjin

You may see players using Danjin to solo bosses. But if you are not used to her kit yet, there is no shame in bringing a healer like Verina to your team. Not only does she heal Danjin, but, she also provides a DMG buff!

Danjin Combos

Switch-in Danjin Combo

Combo: Intro Skill → Res. Skill 1 → Res. Skill 2

After triggering her Intro Skill, follow it up with Resonance Skill: Crimson Erosion by tapping the Resonance Skill button twice. Executing this ability will apply Incinerating Will to an enemy.

Two Basic Attack Combo

Combo: BA1 → BA2 → Res. Skill 1 → Res. Skill 2

The two Basic Attack combo is pretty easy to do and it involves using Danjin's Basic Attack twice and then chaining it with two Resonance Skills, casting Resonance Skill: Crimson Erosion.

Three Basic Attack Combo

Combo: BA1 → BA2 → BA3 → Res. Skill 1 → Res. Skill 2 → Res. Skill 3

The three Basic Attack combo is also easy to execute but it takes longer to complete. This combo activates the Resonance Skill: Sanguine Pulse which allows you to land three Resonance Skills consecutively.

Unlike the Two Basic Attack combo, this combo provides double the Ruby Blossom stack.

Resonance Skill Starter Combo

Combo:

  • Res. Skill 1 → BA1 → Res. Skill 1 → Res. Skill 2

  • Res. Skill 1 → BA1 → BA2 → Res. Skill 1 → Res. Skill 2 → Res. Skill 3

This combo starts with Danjin's Resonance Skill as it counts as a Basic Attack. You can then follow it up with one or two more Basic Attacks to cast Crimson Erosion or Sanguine Pulse!
