Hi guys in this Beginners Guide I will highlight some of the best teams and help you choose the right Characters to build.

I will show you the recommended teams for the Standard 5-Star Units that you can get from the 5-Star Selector, for the 4-Star Characters and also for some of the Limited ones available in Wuthering Waves.

How to Build a Team in Wuthering Waves

To build a team in Wuthering Waves you’ll need to choose one Main-DPS, one Sub-Dps and one Support/Healer. You can also build a team focused around one Hyppercarry DPS with two Supports or one Support and one Healer.

There are 18 Characters available in Version 1.0.

Tips and Tricks

The Main-DPS should stay on the field most of the time, whilst the Sub-DPS fuels them with Buffs or have strong Intro and Outro Skills to be used on a quick rotations swap. And lastly the Support/Healer should be able to Heal or provide team wide Buffs or Shields.

*Note: All of this can also be achieved with the correct Echo Sonata Set. There are also Special Echoes who improve the DMG for the Main-DPS, and the Buffs and Heals for the Sub-DPS’s and Supports/Healers.

Echo Tier List - Wuthering Waves

Early Game Teams

Starting with the early game. This one is an easy one. At the beginning just use the Free Characters.

Some of the free Characters provided by the game are: Main Character—Spectre and Havoc (unlocks after completing main quest), Chixia, Yanyang and Baizhi.

The best team to use here is: Rover (Spectre/Havoc) or Chixia as the Main-DPS, Yangyang as the Sub-Dps and Baizhi as the Healer.

Best 5-Star Character Teams

The game at launch gives 2x 5-Star Selectors and enough resources to hit the pity at least once on the Limited Banners. Provided that now you have acquired any of the Standard 5-Stars or Limited ones. Here are some of the best teams to start building:

If you Pulled Calcharo

Calcharo, is a high skill ceiling character. Learning his rotations increases the DPS output. While if you do his rotation wrong, he takes a huge hit to his damage total.

If you Pulled Jianxin

Jianxin is multi-role utility character who provides shields and gathers enemies. Can be build with different sets—raw elemental DMG bonus or maximize shield/heal capacities.

If you Pulled Lingyang

Lingyang is another damage dealer with a unique playstyle that swaps between ground and aerial combat. This might cause issues with certain enemies as it requires a higher skill cap to master).

If you Pulled Verina

Verina’s kit allows her to synergize with all Main-DPS’s by providing an ATK% and DMG% buff.

If you Pulled Jiyan

Jiyan is a Limited 5-Star Aero Broadblade Character in Wuthering Waves. Jiyan's Combos are easy to learn, and his Heavy Attacks during his Ultimate: Qingloong Mode is AoE and can crowd-control enemies.
