Calcharo is an S Tier Main-DPS Character that scales of ATK and can deal massive DMG with the correct combos and the right CRIT Stats. If not played correctly Calcharo loses DMG potential.
Calcharo is a hard to play character and requires higher skill cap to play.

Best Sonata Effects for Calcharo
Recommended Sonata Set for Calcharo: Void Thunder (5-pc)
Void Thunder increases the Electro DMG Bonus which is great for a main DPS like Calcharo. The 5-pc effect also helps him deal more damage after using Heavy ATK or Resonance Skill.
Recommended Main Echo for Calcharo: Tempest Mephis or Thundering Mephis
Tempest Mephis: Strong all around choice specifically when using 5P Void Thunder. Can be immediately swap cancelled on use for burst damage in which the Echo will deal damage equal to 4 tail swipes but no claw damage. Alternatively, can be fully cast or swap cancelled as soon as the claw attack starts to gain a 12% Electro, Heavy DMG boost and more resonance energy at the cost of higher field time.
Option 1 offers higher echo dps but Option 2 offers a little more resonance energy and a buff. Which will be more effective for you will depend on playstyle, team and the fight you're up against.
Thundering Mephis: Thundering Mephis is most effective when fully used for its entire duration. Fully using this Echo demands a tremendous amount of field time making it unsuitable for many players, teams and situations so only use it if it makes sense for you. If you do decide to use it, this echo will generate a very large amount of Resonance Energy, deal reasonable total damage (much less when compared to a DPS's burst window in similar time) and upon the final strike grant a 12% Electro and Liberation DMG% bonus.

This team is the premier team when you are running Calcharo as a Main DPS.
Yinlin's Outro Skill provides Electro DMG and Liberation DMG Bonus, perfect for Calcharo to generally increase his damage while in Deathblade Gear state. What's more, Yinlin applies a Punishment Mark on enemies that when attacked will send out a coordinated attack for even more damage. Yinlin is indeed the perfect sub-DPS for Calcharo.
Verina is the top choice for a healer-support as she generally increases attacks and can deal coordinated attacks which can proc Yinlin's Punishment Marks.
Gameplay
Verina starts the battle and charges the Concerto Energy until the other Resonator's icons glow up. When available, use her Resonance Liberation so you can apply Photosynthesis Marks on enemies.
Switch to Yinlin and charge up her Forte. Make sure to use her Resonance Skills and attacks to charge it up. Once charged, execute a heavy attack to apply a Mark.
Once the Mark is applied, charge up her Concerto Energy and use her Resonance Liberation. Yinlin's Resonance Liberation should hit multiple times that can call out the coordinated attacks. After the Liberation, switch out to Calcharo.
Once Calcharo is in the field, activate his Resonance Liberation immediately. This will maximize all the buffs from Yinline and the coordinated attack damage while the Punishment Mark is active.
If needed, switch back to Verina to reapply her buffs and heal characters. Repeat the steps until the enemy is defeated.

This team composition focuses on buffing Calcharo's overall damage in battle using Verina and Sanhua's buffs.
Verina will provide healing and ATK buffs to the entire party while Sanhua can increase Calcharo's Basic Attack DMG that his BA's during Resonance Liberation scale-off of.
Gameplay
Verina starts the battle and charges the Concerto Energy until the other Resonator's icons glow up.
Once Sanhua is fully charged, switch to Sanhua. Verina's Outro Skill will increase Sanhua's ATK and provide the entire party with an All-Type DMG Deepen buff.
Activate Sanhua's Resonance Liberation and Skill to charge her Concerto Energy. Make sure to detonate the ice structures for maximum damage!
Switch to Calcharo after using Sanhua. Use Calcharo's Resonance Liberation to enter the Deathblade Gear state and deal a lot of DMG with his Resonance Skill and attack combos.5Repeat the steps until the enemy is felled.

This free-to-play team composition relies on Yangyang providing Resonance Energy for Calcharo so that he can use his Resonance Liberation sooner.
Your third slot can be Baizhi or any other healer if you have them.
Gameplay
Yangyang starts the battle and charges the Concerto Energy until the other Resonator's icons glow up. She can use her Resonance Liberation to group up small enemies.
Once Calcharo is fully charged, you can switch to him so he can use his Intro Skill. Switching from Yangyang to Calcharo will restore the latter's Resonance Energy.
Use Calcharo's Resonance Liberation to enter Deathblade Gear and deal a lot of DMG with his kit.
Switch to Yangyang again once the Concerto Energy has fully charged up. If you need healing, switch to Baizhi and use their healing skill for a quick heal.
Repeat the steps until the enemy is felled.

How to Play Calcharo
Use Calcharo's Resonance Skill to Unleash Heavy Attack: “Mercy”
Calcharo's Resonance Skill can deal a lot of damage especially if the button inputs are timed correctly.
Tap the Resonance Skill button 3 times and then use Calcharo's Heavy Attack to deal a lot of damage.
Heavy Attack Deals AoE Damage
It is important to use Calcharo's Resonance Skill 3 times before using his Heavy Attack since you need a full Forte Circuit gauge to access Heavy Attack: “Mercy”.
Heavy Attack: “Mercy” has a wide range and can hit multiple targets. The ability can also recover Resonance Energy and Concerto Energy.
Use Calcharo's Ultimate to Enter Enhanced State
Calcharo will transform into an enhanced state when using his Ultimate. In the Deathblade Gear state, The damage of his Basic Attacks, Heavy Attacks, and Dodge Counter will increase.
Charge Forte Using Basic Attacks
Do note that after using Calcharo's Ultimate, his Forte Circuit gauge will not get charged using his Resonance Skill. Instead, landing Basic Attacks will now allow Calcharo to gain one point of “Killing Intent.”
Using Basic Attacks in Ultimate Form
As mentioned above, Calcharo's Forte Circuit gauge gets filled up when he uses his Basic Attacks in Ultimate form and requires 5 Killing Intent stacks to be able to unleash Heavy Attack: Death Messenger.
Calcharo Combos
Resonance Skill Combo
Combo: Res. Skill 1 → Res. Skill 2 → Res. Skill 3 → Heavy Attack: “Mercy” (consumes 3 “Cruelty” stacks)
Outside of Calcharo's Ultimate form, you should be using the Resonance Skill combo by tapping the Resonance Skill button 3 times and then using Calcharo's Heavy Attack to end it.
Resonance Liberation Mode Combo
Combo: (During Res. Lib) BA1 → BA2 → BA3 → BA4 → BA5 → Heavy Attack: “Death Messenger” (uses 5 “Killing Intent” stacks)
During Calcharo's Ultimate form, use Calcharo's Basic Attack five times to access Heavy Attack: Death Messenger and deal a lot of damage.
High DMG Combo
Combo: Intro → Res. Skill 1 → Res. Lib → Heavy Attack: “Death Messenger” → Basic Attack x5 → Heavy Attack: “Death Messenger” → Basic Attack x5 → Heavy Attack: “Death Messenger” → Echo → Outro
This is Calcharo's highest damage combo. This can only work if you can use his Intro Skill and his Resonance Liberation is ready.
Start by using Calcharo's Intro Skill, use his Resonance Skill once then enter Resonance Liberation. After entering Resonance Liberation, you should have five Killing Intent stacks to use Heavy Attack: “Death Messenger”.
After using the first Heavy Attack: “Death Messenger”, use five Basic Attacks to do another Heavy Attack: “Death Messenger”. Repeat this combo until you've done your third Heavy Attack: “Death Messenger”.
Once the Resonance Liberation is over, use your Echo then switch to your next character for Calcharo's Outro Skill.
