Diablo Immortal Devs Confirmed New Content for 30 March

Diablo Immortal Dev Talk: Major Content Update Sneak Peak for 30-March 2023

Content Creator Darth Microtransaction recently revealed official early information confirmed by Blizzard on the first Major Content Update that is coming live on 30-March 2023.

Following his Youtube Video we have learned that Diablo Immortal will be getting a handful of new content some of which are: New — Zone, Dungeon, PVP Mode, Set Items, Cursed Gear, Legendary Gems and much more.

Cursed Gear

Diablo Immortal New Cursed Gear

A new category of Legendary Item, known as Cursed Gear, is obtainable through both PvP (New Tower Clan Activity) and PvE content in the game. (Farming, Bestiary, etc.)

This new type of gear is intended to replace the standard Legendary Gear and become the new standard. It functions similarly to set gear, with unique bonuses that are unlocked as more parts are collected.

The new gear can be easily identified by its unique icon, and it boasts an enhanced appearance compared to standard gear. When obtaining new items, there is a chance for them to be cursed, providing the opportunity to unlock powerful set bonuses. For instance, having two pieces with the same curse will grant bonuses such as dealing up to 130% AOE Damage when summoning a creature, additional Primary Attack Damage or providing Defensive benefits.

The cursed gear comes with a rerolling mechanic, allowing you to modify the curse to your desired effect. However, it's worth noting that cursed gear also carries negative effects one of which can impact the overall beneficial effect duration. As the name suggests, Cursed Gear can be detrimental to use, leading to a process of optimizing for the desired positive and negative effects to truly make the gear stand out.

This feature is less accommodating for casual players and appears to be geared towards those who prefer a grind-heavy gameplay experience, greatly expanding the potential for new builds and archetypes.

The Accursed Towers - New PvP Clan Activity

Different towers will be released in waves over time, first wave starting with 48 towers.

At the beginning, none of the towers will be occupied on the map and you will have to compete with other players in a 10 vs. 10 game mode to claim them.

Select a tower and register for the battle. After a winner is determined, that tower will be claimed by the victorious player/team.

Tower of Greed Rewards Diablo Immortal

Tower rewards are obtainable by participating in tower-related content. Example of rewards: +200 Combat Rating in Helliquary Raids, a piece of equipment, Battle Points, Experience, Gold, etc.

Some towers will hold more significance than others, prompting your clan to strategically choose which ones to acquire.

Other clans may attempt to register for battle and challenge your clan for control. If multiple clans attempt to attack the same tower, a 10 vs 10 match will be held between the attacking clans. The victorious clan will then have the opportunity to challenge the tower's defender.

New PvP Mode - 10 vs. 10

Diablo Immortal New 10 vs. 10 PvP Mode

On march 30th Blizzard will be releasing the newest PvP mode that can be played on a larger scale (10 vs. 10) and will involve Clans.

This is a balanced PvP game mode taking place on a mirrored map with the main objective focusing around capturing and controlling the towers.

This is an organized and scheduled event that you will be doing with your Clan.

The objective of the game is to fight and capture any of the 5 Available Towers on the map, by doing earns you points.

The first team to get to 1500 Points will win the battle.

This will be a highly strategic battle, and the team that can best execute their offense and tactics will emerge as the victor.

One other thing worth mentioning is how Valor Badges work in the new 10 vs. 10 PvP Mode. The Life bonus of the Badge will add whilst the Damage will not add to your total stats, contrary to previous game modes where Valor Badges used to give both Life and Damage.

The Cycle of Strife de-buff will also occur in the new game mode, meaning that you will receive 66% reduced effects from Legendary Gems, Family Reforge Attributes, etc.

There is no difference between Shadows and Immortals.

New Dungeon - Dread Reaver

Embark on a new Story Quest to track down the elusive Cult of Terror and retrieve the stolen Worldstone Shard before they can deliver it to one of their leaders.

This dungeon is set on a ship caught in violent seas and under siege from an enormous sea monster.

Dread Reaver Dungeon unlocks at Hell V.

The new dungeon, Dear Reaver, will provide drops for the two rings of the new Banquet of Eyes Set, as well as items from existing sets. This allows players to pursue the remaining set items in other dungeons.

Dread Reaver Set Item Drops:

  • Shepherd and Architect - Shepherd’s Call to Wolves

  • Seeping Bandlet - Banquet of Eyes

  • Bilious Bandlet - Banquet of Eyes

  • The Mailed Fist - Feasting Baron’s Pack

  • Storm-Tack of Shal’baas - War Rags of Shal’baas

  • Torn Sole - Grace of the Flagellant

New Legendary Gems

Full information on the newest 1-Star, 2-Star and 5-Star Legendary Gems to be confirmed on 30-March.

On a general note all we know is that the new gems will be based around Damage Over Time and Ramping Up Primary Attack Damage.

New Set Items

The upcoming set Banquet of Eyes is centered around poison damage. It will increase your damage over time against enemies, and the full 6-set bonus effect will put you in a "poison frenzy" state, further increasing your damage over time. It's important to note that only debuffs will count towards this set, such as the Seeping Bile effect that visibly applies on the enemy's health bar. Ground damage and other effects will not be counted. However, the 6-set bonus is considered a buff for yourself, so any increase in beneficial effect duration will also affect it.

Quality of Life Updates

Battleground Changes — defense is getting buffed, 65 kills will be required for winning instead of 55.

Set Items — drop rate will be increased.

Dungeon Changes — overall difficulties will be decreased and the damage dealt will be increased. Certain dungeon Bosses will arrive sooner and have their damage decreased.

Challenge Rift Changes — the speed at which the boss spawns will be increased as well as the damage.

Monstrous Essence — drop rate will be increased.

Elder Rift — you can now run 10x Rare Crests at a time.
