FREE 5-Star Character Xiangli Yao in Wuthering Waves 1.2 Update: Banners, Changes, Waveplate Storage
Wuthering Wave's upcoming 1.2 update, releases on August 15, 2024, New Resonators Zhezhi and Xiangli Yao, quality of life changes, new weapons, 120FPS, waveplate storage and much more.
Update 1.2 for Wuthering Waves goes Live on August 15, 2024.
Wuthering Waves Patch Notes 1.2
New characters
Two new 5-Star Resonators will be added to the game:
Zhezhi 5-star Glacio, Rectifier
Xiangli Yao (free) 5-star Electro, Gauntlets
Waveplate Storage
A new feature to store excess Waveplates will be added in Version 1.2.
Once players reach the Waveplate cap, they will receive Waveplate Crystals. These Crystals can be exchanged for Waveplates of equivalent value.
※ You will regenerate 1 Waveplate Crystal every 12 minutes, up to 480 Waveplate Crystals. Once this limit is reached, you will not gain additional Waveplate Crystals.
New Utility Gadget: Hoverdroid: Shooter
New Gadget that shoots objectives will be added to the game to ease the need of switching between teams when there are no pistol-using Resonators available for challenges like the Photonvault and similar puzzles.
In Version 1.2, you'll be able to use the new Hoverdroid: Shooter Utility.
Once the Utilities feature is available, you can equip the Hoverdroid: Shooter in the Utility Wheel. To shoot with the Hoverdroid, simply tap or hold the Basic Attack button.
Resonator Showcase Feature
From Version 1.2, you can view and display the Convene scenes of unlocked Resonators with the Resonator Showcase feature.
※ Tap the avatar on the Terminal screen to open the Resonator Showcase. You can display up to 3 selected Resonators here.
Free 5-Star Resonator: Xiangli Yao
The developers have announced that every player will receive Xiangli Yao for FREE!
The second phase of Version 1.2 in Wuthering Waves will give everyone a new 5-Star Character all for free.
Quality of Life Changes
Custom Lock-ON Feature
Starting from Version 1.2, you'll gain access to the new Custom Lock-On feature under Settings - Control.
This option allows you to set the auto lock-on priorities for enemies based on your combat preferences.
120 FPS Option Update
The 120 FPS option will be added to a select number of PC devices in Version 1.2.

Depths of Illusive Realm Store Rewards Update
More exchange items to the Illusive Store to help level up more Resonators.
More Guidebook Activity Points from a Daily Quest
Activity Points reward for the "Spend 180 Waveplates" daily quest will be increased from +20 to +60 to help complete dailies faster.
