Some of the best DPS Characters for HSR Pure Fiction are Acheron, Argenti, Himeko, Kafka, Yunli, Herta.
The best DPS characters in Pure Fiction are the ones who can clear multiple waves of enemies quickly.
HSR Pure Fiction: Support Character Tier List

DPS:
- How much DMG Character can do to multiple targets.
- Sinergy to current Pure Fiction weaknesses, whimsicality and buffs.
Support:
- How good the buffs, debuffs, shields, and healing they provide to the team.
- If they can hit multiple targets.

Disclaimer to better undestand this Tier List:

Luocha, Aventurine and FuXuan if built with Crit, can obliterate a full wave of mobs with their Ultimate.
Gallagher if built with enough Break Effect, can deplete enemies Toughness bar and apply Fire DoT. This unit is also skill point positive.
March 7th if built correctly can freeze and clear trash mobs. It's actually stronger than Lynx, Bailu and Gepard.
Pela is S Tier because if build for Crit, Ultimate can clear a full wave of mobs.
Black Swan, Kafka and Serval can clear on fully auto. Black Swan synergy with these two is insanely strong.
Welt built for Crit hits every unit and clears the trash mobs whilst delaying everyone else.

Here are a couple of TEAMS to start with in Pure Fiction: Words of Deceit for First and Second half.

Whimsicality Effect: When allies use their Ultimate to attack an enemy target, inflicts the target with Shatter, stacking up to 6 time(s). At the start of the target's turn or when the target is defeated, deals a set amount of DMG to the target and adjacent targets based on the number of Shatter stacks.

There are many other teams that perform as good as these or even better.

Such examples would be:

Kafka + Black Swan + Serval.
Clara + Sparkle + Tingyun and Lynx.
Himeko + Herta in any (Ice + Fire weak) situations in Pure Fiction.
Herta + Sparkle + Pela + Healer or Fire Trailblazer.
