Normal Gems Types and Stats
There are currently six Normal Gems in game, categorized as:
Red - Tourmaline and Ruby that provides Damage and Life
Yellow - Citrine and Topaz that provides Potency and Resistance
Blue - Sapphire and Aquamarine that provides Armor Penetration and Armor.
Latest Patch has introduced new gem attribute Refinement
Normal Gems now have a new attribute called Refinement that increases the base attribute of the equipment slot the Normal Gem is socketed into. The increase from Refinement is a fixed percentage based on the rank of the Normal Gem, up to a maximum of Rank 10. Normal Gems of all colors provide the same increase at their respective rank.
Starting from rank 1, Normal Gems of any color gives 3% Refinement and scales at a 3% fixed rate as your Normal Gem increases in rank (rank 2 gives 6%, rank 3 9%, rank 4 12% and so on). Maximum Increase in your base Attributes is 90% (or couple thousands Life.)
Where to Socket Normal Gems
Normal Gems can be socketed in Secondary Gear:
Neck can have 2-3 Sockets (Red, Yellow, Blue )
Rings can have 1 Socket (Red or Blue)
Hands can have 2-3 Sockets (Yellow)
Belts can have 2-3 Sockets (Red)
Boots can have 2-3 Sockets (Blue)
How to Obtain Normal Gems
Normal gems can be found in:
Hidden Lairs - randomly spawned 2-Floor based dungeons that players can get into from the Overworld Map. (Hidden Lair guide & Locations)
Purchased from the Hilts Trader on a weekly basis.
Purchased from other players in the Market for Platinum.
Dungeons - 4 man party runs only and there is a limit.
Overworld Map - 4 man party farm only and there is a limit.
In-game Shop with microtransactions - limited
Normal Gem Drop Update
Normal Gem Drop has been increased by 300%. You can now collect up to 9 Bound Normal Gems from Bonus Objectives and 9 Unbound Normal Gems from Hidden Lair Guardians.
The chances of finding gems will decrease with each subsequent Hidden Lair run, with the first 2 Hidden Lairs being the most efficient. The rewards section of the Hidden Lair entrance menu has been updated to indicate how to collect Bound and Unbound Normal Gems from within the Hidden Lair. The rewards will grey out once you have reached your Normal Gem allotment each day, so you can easily track if gem rewards are available before entering a Hidden Lair.
Upgrading Normal Gems in Diablo Immortal
Starting from Rank 1 they provide various level of attributes. All Normal Gems can be upgraded up to Rank 10.
You can Upgrade gems via the Apprentice Jeweler, who can be found in the Safe Zone of any map in the game.
Detailed Example: Click Services to start, and then Manage. To find out what gems you have socketed in any item, just click on it. Select any gem to Replace/Remove or Upgrade.
The Upgrade screen shows you your current Gem and the value of its attribute, along with what it could become when upgraded to the next rank.
Gems can be upgraded by combining 3 of the same ranked gem.
Example: Combining 3x Tourmaline (Rank 1) creates one Tourmaline (Rank 2), combining 3x Tourmaline (Rank 2) creates one Tourmaline (Rank 3), and so on.
Upgrading furthermore than Rank 5 a new material called Echo Crystal is required. You can purchase these for 500 Platinum at the Jeweler in Westmarch.
Normal Gem Rank 1-10 Attribute Bonuses Table
Attributes scale based on the rank of the gem. As you upgrade, your gem gets more powerful. The two Red gems scale differently than the Blue and Yellow gems.
