Normal Gems can be socketed in Secondary Gear and provide Attribute bonuses and %Refinement depending on the type of Gem used.

There are currently six Normal Gems in game, categorized as Red - Tourmaline and Ruby that provides Damage and Life, Yellow - Citrine and Topaz that provides Potency and Resistance, Blue - Sapphire and Aquamarine that provides Armor Penetration and Armor. Starting from Rank 1 Normal Gems of any colour provide various level of attributes and %Refinement that increases your stats as soon as you slot them in your equipment. The increase from Refinement is a fixed percentage based on the rank of the Normal Gem and scales at a fixed percentage as your Normal Gem increases in rank, up to a maximum of Rank 10. Normal Gems of all colors provide the same increase at their respective rank. All Normal Gems can be upgraded up to Rank 10.

Which Normal Gems are the best in Diablo Immortal?

Red Gems are the most powerful and should be prioritized, specifically Tourmaline which gives raw damage increase.
Items with Red Sockets: Neck, Rings and Belts (1-3 Sockets)

Blue Gems are your next priority. For ranged classes Sapphire which provides Armor Penetration being of higher importance than Aquamarine since it contributes to your damage output. And for melee classes Aquamarine which provides Armor being of higher importance than Armor Penetration since it contributes to your survivability.
Item with Guaranteed Blue Sockets: Neck, Rings and Boots (1-3 Sockets)

Last but not least, Yellow Gems. This type are the least powerful type and you should prioritise last. It’s worth mentioning here that characters who use a lot of crowd control or play PvP may feel differently as they need Citrine to get more Potency which affects the duration of your skills. For players who don't use crowd control effects such as Stuns or Chill, go for Topaz which gives Resistance.
Item with Guaranteed Yellow Sockets: Neck, Gloves (1-3 Sockets)
